We Love Visiting Family!

This past week we had a nice surprise because Aunt Debbie came to visit- unexpectantly! Debbie lives in New York and comes every couple of months for a visit to check on Great Grandma Edmund and see how the rest of the family is doing. She wasn't suppose to come until before Christmas however added a trip in there and came a little early! Since Aidyn has been born she has been home twice now and it's just so wonderful having her here to share in Aidyn's childhood. He is growing up so fast and Debbie is really trying to make an effort to be a part of his world. I wish Aidyn had more time with her and could see her more. Like all of those relavtives that you love and live distances apart from; you make the most of the time spent together and you cherish those memories. One of the reasons I made this site was because of Debbie and her two daughters. I made a facebook site first for them... then Debbie made one :) This I think is easier for her because facebook can just be a little confusing from time to time (as Debbie has said)! I appreciate the willingness to use it and she still tries to use it which is great! I hope everyone in the family is keeping track of little Aidyn! Aidyn is a lucky little boy to have such positive role models in his life! Debbie ... I know you are reading this right now... we love you, you are such a role model for my angel to see and talk to. Just by talking with you; you uplift me and make me laugh and laugh! We can't wait until you come and play again! :)

"I think I am liking this lady!"

Along with Aunt Debbie spending some quality time with the little boy Great Grandma Edmund came over too! We love Gram, not only is she a "speak your mind kind of gal" but she is also wonderful with Aidyn! As you can see Aidyn likes her too... we love Gram's kind rather gentle disposition and the ability to make babies laugh! Keep it up Grammmmssss!

"I kind of like this lady too...she is silly!"

"You're a good lookin' lady grams!"

A Little More Help is All You Need!

Yippppeee we are sitting up by ourself on the couch! Aidyn is still needing some help in sitting up but each day he needs less and less assistance! I can't believe how fast this time with him is flying by! Our "little diddle" will shortly be needing NO help in sitting! He is well on his way to being a VERY busy little boy!

Aidyn is super excited about this view!

Aidyn thinks he can get to this pumpkin... just a little further reach...

Oh yes he made it... but oh no... we begin to fall... just a bit...

Aidyn falls... oops... is he okay???

YEP! Just smiles and giggles from the little diddle!

Honest, he is NOT a girl!

Well today Aidyn left Ohio for the first time and visited the state of Pennsylvania! Mom and I decided to make the trip to Ross Park Mall for some mom/daugther time and great deals (not really) at the new Nordstrom's, which opened this weekend for those of you avid shoppers! I can't begin to say how many times we were stopped because of Aidyn. How many times you ask did we get .."oh your little girl is simply adorable.." by absolute strangers? Let's see maybe 5?? "Umm, thanks but it's a boy." I mean he is wearing jeans, a white onesie (or as Michael first called them "o-nesies") and Uggs! How can someone mistaken him for a girl today?? Well, I am blessed with a cutie that's for sure and yes, he does have very long eyelashes, big blue eyes, blonde hair, and very danty features but HE IS A BOY already! Needless to say yes I will probably be batting those girlies away eventually but for now I am the only woman who has his heart! :)

Best Dressed Early

For those of you who live on the East coast like us the weather begins to get frigid and it starts to become time for those winter coats and boots! I guess you could say that I didn't think about this time of year for a little one when I was pregnant. I bought all these clothes ahead of time but neglected the winter gear. Last week I went to Baby Gap and purchased a winter coat for Aidyn because his little football fleece one just isn't cutting the cold weather. Michael and I live in a condo developement on a lake so I'm not sure if it's the lake breeze that adds to the cold weather or what but it always seems to be even more chilling here than 30 minutes from here. I swear that wind just whips around our place from the water; it makes you not even want to go for walks around the block! Then today we got in the mail our nice little Ugg boots! I can say that this child is definately dressed well :) and for those of you who know me well... he takes after mommy with the True Religions (I will be back into all of them eventually- not quite in those size 2's yet!) and designer brands! How many babies do you know who wear Diesel Kid (True Religions on the way) jeans and Ugg boots?! I don't think I had that nice of clothes when I was a baby.. but as the times change you see more and more of this now with the little ones! Our favorite site for these at MilkShop.com ofcourse! I can't believe how time has flown by and how Aidyn is growing up so quickly! I look forward to the upcoming holidays when we can take him to cut a Christmas tree and shop for Christmas presents! This year I think we are starting the tradition of having Christmas at our house. It 's a little cramped in here since we live in a two story condo but we plan on having Aidyn's presents here instead of the Nanny G's house or the in-laws ;) I can remember the feeling of coming downstairs as a child to see all of what Santa brought and loving it! It's these special memories that mean the most... he most certainly doesn't need all of his fancy clothing... but he sure does look darn cute in it so we will try to buy some "cool" things from time to time with Daddy's paycheck!

The Peapod

He's a peapod! A very LARGE peapod that is! The story behind the peapod is a sentimental one... I really wish he could be this for his first Halloween but to my dismay sadly I think it is too small! I have been teaching in an elementary school in this area for 4 years now so as you can remember from your own childhood, Halloween is a big deal. A couple of years ago our principal decided to follow other schools in the area and do away with the Halloween celebrations and just do a Fall Harvest instead. This however didn't go over quite so well because children would not be allowed to wear the costumes they were so excited over. So the following year, after sad children and (believe it or not) complaining parents... Halloween was again offically celebrated again! This is one reason I LOVE my job... I have developed great friendships with those who can relate to my life and who are experiencing the same events at roughly the same time in their own lives. At one point (before I left for maternity) during the school year of 2006-2007 there were 4 teachers on maternity leave. So needless to say when Halloween came all the tikes came in with their mommies, and since many were born around the same time peapods was a popular costume! Many can relate to this who have a child who is small and with Halloween coming you contemplate what to dress the little one as. The peapod was a easy costume since it covers 0-9 months! Well, Aidyn loves his bottle and eventhough the doctor claimed that he is in the 50th percentile for weight ... he is starting to get a little chubs. lol Also I am beginning to see that length is becoming an issue as well. He is currently in the 75th percentile for height so a lot of things fit around the waist but not in the length. Needless to say... we can't fit in our costume now! What to do now?
"Mom what are you putting me in now?"

"Come on just a little more and you'll be completely in it..."

"Ok, mom seriously I can't even straighten my legs in this green thing..."

Happy 3 Months Little Man...

Time has surely just flown by... I can't believe Aidyn is already 3 months old! Within just three months Aidyn has grown so fast! I feel like it was just yesterday that he was born and I was teaching the hubby how to put diapers on Aidyn! I am so blessed with such a adorable and smart little boy! With each passing day I become more and more addicted to the little man... each small accomplishment he makes touches and melts my heart more and more! Will I go back to teaching? I don't know... :) Some of his accomplishments thus far include the following...

- sitting up staight (with very little head support from me) in his Bumbo chair - that was today's success!
- making varous sounds... "g", "b", and "h" (I would like to think the phonics flashcards I do with him helped in this!)
- recognizing the tongue and sticking it out
- rolling over to his right side on his own and back to his back afterward
- grasping rattles and shaking them on his own
- smiling in response to me
- developing a laugh in response to something silly I do
- pulling his head off the ground when on his belly for belly time
- beginning to try to hold his own bottle even if I remove his hands and discourage it :) they just get in the way!
- developing a very unique personality of stubborness and wanting what he wants. (great :) )
-holding his pacifier in his mouth by himself
- recognizing his mobile and getting excited over it
- kicking like a maniac!
- recognizing books, loving me reading to him, turning his head to view each page, and believe it or not attempting to touch and turn the pages!]
-loving the televison and crying until he can see it upright (when sitting on the couch)

I can't wait to see what he does next... each day there seems to be something new! I love being a mommy!

It's a game...

Today was the day after Aidyn found his tongue. It sounds funny but very true. He discovered that this little "thing" in his mouth actually can come out! Yesterday he started this and it continued today... however today he started making it more a game with me. I would show him my tongue and he would do the same and then I would go to grab it and he would pull it away - Very cute! It seems like such a silly thing to blog about however it would have melted anyones heart seeing that little tongue just barely make it out. ;) He would then smile and make his little monkey laugh!

Can We Play?

Also this weekend, Uncle Tommy and Aunt Erica came over to play! They love Aidyn so much and it's always nice to see them! Michael and I can't wait until they start their own little family! Aidyn was cranky at first when they came over, but soon started to cheer up when he was on one of his blankets to play! He has a new toy - one for which he can kick a ball and it makes this tiger move his head. It is a silly toy but as they say... the more silly the more they like it! Tommy will make a nice little pal to have around to keep Aidyn busy!

We play and play....

and play some more!

I love my auntie Erica!

Hello Daddy and Tommy!

Pumpkin Time...

Yesterday we went pumpkin shopping! Michael and I took Aidyn to get a pumpkin for the first time at White House Fruit Farms. We had a great time and found one large pumpkin and one small pumpkin. I tried to sit Aidyn down next to some pumpkins but as soon as I placed him beside them he began to cry... I guess I would be scared to sit by a ton of huge orange things too! Poor guy..what I put him through for a picture- I hope he didn't get any nightmares! Anyways, I held the little guy most of the time and then tried once again to sit him on top of a bin of pumpkins this time. That didn't work either because he was a wiggle worm and almost lost a shoe! Those little L.A.M.B.'s are too cute to lose in a bin of pumpkins!

Aidyn really isn't so sure about this pumpkin picking...

When we got home Michael wanted to carve the pumpkins we got but I said it was toooo early to carve.... he won. We placed Aidyn on a blanket downstairs where we planned on carving them and he watched from afar while daddy used the big knife and then I held him when we had to take out the pulp. I let him touch it and Aidyn kept getting that stuff everyone on the wood floors ... so I said "enough" and took it away from him. Later I found him licking his hand with his tongue... I wonder if he thought it tasted good?!

Here he is on the blanket...

What an icky mess he made!

No seeds for you yet!
